You are beautiful. 
There. I said it. 
But in reality, when someone compliments us, or gives us an inkling that we don't match up with our self view of ourselves-- we get queasy, or bashful. For me, my go to is to run. Or turn it around to a weirdo face-- because let's be real- I can connect better as a weirdy then someone who is "beautiful".

Let's be real

One time in college I was studying the physical response to compliments. My instructor, made me go up in front of our 20-something class with my arms held out to my sides like the crucifix and gave me instructions to stand there, Neutral. And accept what was coming next. 
No, it wasn't bullets. But in my body that had trauma from the past- things like parental neglect, rape, and a mother that was equally if not more bruised by her past.... it very well could have been. 
They gave me compliments. 
My heart raced, my arms wanted to come in close to hug my body, my chest literally ached, my knees buckled, and I WANTED TO RUN. 

In my whole life--- just because I had people give me compliments, didn't mean I actually received them. Or rather, I didn't believe them. 
It hurt too much.
And gosh darn it, I was afraid of letting people tell me something that was truthful. 
I was CONDITIONED to sluff it off, and be funny or cross my arms... and say "psh, yea..."

BELIEVE IT BABE.

Believe it. You are seen as so much more than you give yourself. And hun, once you step into that light... you will reveal a whole new you. Did you know your mother, or sister, or children.... see you as radiant. Literally glowing even in your darkest of times, because beauty is your birthright. 
You are God's HIGHEST form of creation. From the tiny hairs on your head down into the toes of your feet. 
And you are magnificent. 
Does beauty mean something to you? Does the vision of those around you matter? The ones that love you.... 

QUESTION TIME...

It is time to say yes. 
Answer these questions:
Are you a human? Are you living? Do you have a heart, a soul and a spirit...Are you a someone that desires to shine? Are you in a place where you could use a pick-me-up? Would you love a photo of yourself that can reflect back to you exactly what those loved ones see in you?
